Artifact for Standard Four: Multiple Instructional Strategies
Name of Artifact: Models II Lesson Plan I
Date: January 25, 2013
Course: Models of Instruction and Theories II
Rationale:
This lesson is the first lesson in a series for the poetry unit. Students must use their critical thinking skills to interpret the poems as they are written in old English. They must also employ their problem-solving techniques to decipher the existing literary terms that are embedded in the poems. Lastly, students must produce a product after discussing these elements in their groups. The multiple instructional strategies include the Concept Development Model, Stretch It, Circulate, and Double Plan. These strategies work together in the lesson so that students have several opportunities to develop their critical thinking, problem-solving, and performance skills.
